How to Add/Modify Benefit Coverages
This screen is used to assign Coverage codes to a Benefit/ Employee Group combination. Each Benefit is identified by a Benefit Type Code. Benefit Type Codes cannot be created, deleted or modified on this screen. The Benefit Type Definition screen must be used for Benefit Type Code maintenance.
Use the following steps to Add/Modify Benefit Coverages:
1. Click on Board Control
2. Click on Benefits
3. Click on Benefit Coverage

4. Click the Find button at top of the menu bar to see all records in the database.

5. If K212 HRP dialog box displays, click Yes to continue.

6. Select Benefit Type Code on the left-hand grid
7. Right-click the grey grid below the Employee Group Code column and Select New Record

8. Select an Employee Group Code value to add a definition to. (i.e APPSP)
9. Enter a unique Coverage Code value (OMERSAPP1)
10. Enter a unique Abbreviation value (OAPPSP)
11. Enter a unique Description value (OMERS for APPSP)
12. Enter a Year Ends In value
13. Select an Effective Start Date value
14.Select a Liability Account value
15. Select an Expense Account value
16. Select an Algorithm Code value
17. Select an Apply FTE to Board Share? value (i.e Yes)
18. Select an Apply FTE to Employee Share? value (i.e No)
19. Enter in any other relevant information on the screen (If applicable) (Consult the user guides for more information about each field)
20. Click the Save button to save your changes
