How to Export ONSIS MEN File

This screen produces an xml file for submission to OnSIS.  A Ministry Educator Number (MEN) is a unique identifier assigned to all board and school level educators in the province of Ontario. The MEN replaces the use of the Social Insurance Number (SIN) by the Ministry of Education. It is used to facilitate the collection of educator assignment data at both board and school level.

The program uses the following algorithm:  

•Select all of the employees from EC_EMPLOYEE table with EDUCATOR_IND='Y' and the TERMINATION_DATE > LAST_MEN_ADMINISTRATION_DATE from EC_CONFIGURATION table. This file is used to request new MENs for Educators, update OnSIS of any changes to an Educator’s file with an appropriate reason for change code and is also used to upload Career Experience data. 

Educator administration data can be updated in real-time, any time during the year in the OnSIS application.

Use the following steps to Export ONSIS MEN File:

          1. Click on Board Control

          2. Click on ONSIS Report

          3. Click on Generate MEN Request File

          4. Click on the Submit button to generate the Export file. (The file will be exported to the default logfile location)
