How to Mass Update/View History Employees Positions & Assignments
This screen is used to initiate a background process (see Background Processing section later in this document) that will perform the following updates for all Employees in the Employee Groups selected:
•Update position and assignment records for all Employees based on the new Employee Group record
•Optionally update assignment records for all Employees
Position records are used by the payroll system in conjunction with the compensation record to calculate Employee payment amounts. Position records can be updated manually; however, using the background process reduces the effort and risk of errors significantly.
Use the following steps to Mass Update/View History Employees Positions & Assignments:
1. Click on Board Control
2. Click on Compensation
3. Click on Position and Assignment Update

4. Right-click the grey grid below Group Code in the Group Pos/Assign Update Parameters Tab and Select New Record

5. Enter in the relevant information within the grid (All Fields are Mandatory) (Consult the user guides for more information about each field)
6. Select a Mode value (i.e Trial)
Selecting 'Trial' mode will generate a test document of all updated records when submitted, but will not actually update the records within the database until submitted in 'Update' Mode.
7. Select Run Indicator = Y
8. Click the Save button to save your changes

9. Click on the Submit button to Mass update

10. Select the History of Pos/Assign Update to view the history of all mass updated positions/assignments
