This table is initially populated from Maplewood based on the Ontario October Board Report suspension and expulsion criteria. If you are an Ontario school, it is strongly recommended that you do not alter the first 4 table entries as they will be of value when completing the October Board Statistical Report (Suspension Mandatory, Suspension Discretionary, Expulsion Mandatory, Expulsion Discretionary). Schools outside Ontario may delete or edit these first 4 entries.
All schools can add to this list of consequences to include such things as detention, in-school suspension, loss of privileges, etc. Only a title (English or French) must be entered, and the other fields are optional. The Suspension Type is required if the consequence is to be included in the Ontario Board October Report.
To define a consequence choose Incidents, Define Consequences. A list of Consequences (if any) will appear.
To add a Consequence, click Add. To edit an existing Consequence, select the Consequence and click Edit. This is an example of an editing box. The adding box will look the same but will have no information entered.
Sort Key - Enter a letter or numeric value if you wish. This will help users sort lengthy lists, for example, you can group categories of consequences with a prefix 'b'. When you enter 'b' on the Incident Details screen in the drop-down list of Consequences, the list displayed will start with the prefix 'b'.
Use the Details tab to include Student and Reporting person details.
