Alberta - PASI Grant Program Rules


Grant Program Rules

The following rules are applied with respect to Grant Program assignment.

 Please note; the Maplewood enrolment tab will not let users exit with rule violations.

  1. Grants Program code 110 can only be used by Designated Special Education Private Schools (DSEPS) (School Setup, Configuration, School Classification Type = Spec Ed/Designated SE Private School)
  2. Grants Program code 221 can only be used by Francophone School Authorities (School Setup, Configuration, School Authority Classification Type = Francophone)
  3. Only one of 110, 140, and 145 can be used
  4. Only one of 200 series or 400 series code can be used
  5. Only one of the 300 series codes can be used, except: 301 and 302 can be used with 307, and 302 and 303 can be used with 306.
  6. All Grants Program Codes provided are unique
  7. Grants Program code 140 cannot be used along with Grants Program codes 600, 610, 611 or 612
  8. Grants Program codes 301, 302, 303, 306, 307, and 640 cannot be used with Grants Program codes 600, 610, 611, 612, 620 or 630
  9. Grants Program code 500 is used along with an appropriate Exception Code - Special Education, Category (aka Exceptionality)
  10. Grants Program code 110 is used with a 50 series Exception Code - Special Education, Category (aka Exceptionality)
  11. When Grants Program code 140 is used, Grants Program code 500 should also be used
  12. Grants Program code 500 cannot be used with Grants Program code 550
  13. Grants Program code 630 cannot be used with Grants Program code 500
  14. Grants Program code 110 should not be used for Early Childhood Services (EC) students
  15. An appropriate value for Resident Board must be provided when using Grants Program code 110 or 140
  16. An appropriate value for Francophone Board (other Fields, Francophone Board) must be provided when using Grants Program code 145
  17. Grants Program codes 145, 211, 221, and 230 require an appropriate amount of French Hours of Instruction also be provided (Other Fields, Hours of Instruction)
  18. Schools must offer Special Education for the Grant identified in order to use Grants Program 500 (School Setup, Configuration, School Program Offering Type = Special Education)
  19. Schools must offer an Outreach program in order to use Grants Program code 630 (School Setup, Configuration, School Program Offering Type = Outreach)
  20. Schools must offer an Alternative French program in order to use Grants Program code 211 (School Setup, Configuration, School Program Offering Type = Alternative French)
  21. Schools must offer a French as a Second Language program in order to use Grants Program code 230 (School Setup, Configuration, School Program Offering Type = French as a Second Language)
  22. Grants Program codes 301, 302 and 303 are used consistently from year to year.
  23. Grants program code 301 or 307, the student's identification information cannot have the source document type of "Alberta Birth Certificate" or "Canadian Birth Certificate". (Students, Enrolment, Birthdate verification).
