Topic-based Marks / Grades Setup

Before using Topic based Marks Grades, there are specific areas that must be set up by the office:

• Correlate Topic based Database
• Define Terms
• Define Topics
• Define Identifiers
• Define Maps To Conventional Marks
• Define Comments
• Select Terms
• Select Topics
• Define Weights
• Letter Grade Definitions

With the standard installation of Maplewood for all Ontario Secondary Schools certain areas of your Topic Based Marks have been pre-defined. This enables the program to print the Ontario Provincial Report Cards. However, there are some areas that may be customized which would ease the mark entry process for your teachers. Please note, certain aspects should never be altered: do NOT remove reportable terms or topics from the Define Term, Define Topic areas nor change the identifiers.

Editing the titles of reporting Terms.  Under Marks, Topic Based Marks, Define Terms you may change the title of the terms.

This may aid teachers greatly with their mark entry as we have found the term EVAL sometimes sounds a little too technical. Below are some suggestions.
