How to Add a Contract Code
The Contract Definition Maintenance screen is used to uniquely identify each Contract to be negotiated. You can set up Contract Codes and enter information to be negotiated between the Board and the Union. Although Contracts generally run for 1 to 3 years, the system allows a maximum of 5 years for a Contract Code. This menu option also contains a list of all previous Contracts (ie. those that have already been completed).
A snapshot of Employee information residing on the database is used as a basis to make proposed changes and determine the new contract (Eg. movement on the Grid).
Use the following steps to Add a Contract Code:
1. Click on CNS
2. Click on Control Tables
3. Click on Contract Maintenance

4. Click the Find button at top of the menu bar to see all records in the database.

5. If K212 HRP dialog box displays, click Yes to continue.

6. Click the New button at the top of the menu bar to clear fields and add a record.

7. Enter a unique Contract Code value
8. Enter a unique Description
9. Enter a unique Abbreviation
10. Enter a Negotiation Period Start Date
11. Select an Anniversary Increase Indicator value (i.e Y)
See Build Extract Table user guide for options (most common date options are “6” – hard-coded date or “1” – Employee’s original hire date)
12. Enter any other relevant parameters (If applicable)
13. Click the Save button to save your changes.
