How to Perform G/L Account Replication

 

Use the following steps to perform G/L account replication:

 

1. Click on the Business tab, click General Ledger, and select G/L Account(s) Replication.

 

2. If applicable, in the G/L Account(s) Replication screen, under the Step 1: Selection Criteria section, select one of the following radio buttons: All (selected by default) or Any.

 

 

3. Click on the Select Basis Elements button.

 

4. In the G/L Alias Account Picker dialog box, under the Account Elements and Alias Elements sections, click on the drop-down menu beside the corresponding element to select one or more options. Use the Search field to enter specific information, use the Select All button to select all available options, or use the Select None button to remove all selected options.

 

Note: At least one account element or alias element must to be selected. 

 

 

5. Click on the Accept button or the Cancel button to return to the G/L Account(s) Replication screen.

 

Note: The elements selected will display in the Basis Elements section.

 

6. If applicable, select the Apply Changes to Next Year selection box.

 

7. If applicable, click on the Build Preliminary Report button. The grid below will populate with the search criteria and the Step 2: New Account Information section will become available.

 

 

8. In the Step 2: New Account Information section, click on the G/L Dictionary Element drop-down menu to select an option.

 

 

9. Click on the the G/L Item Details drop-down menu to make a selection.

 

Note: To see the new G/L format, click on the arrow to the right of the G/L Item Details field and the new format will display in the New G/L Format field.

 

 

10. If no changes need to be made to the alias, deselect the Change Alias? selection box.

1. If applicable, click on the G/L Alias Item Details drop-down menu to select an option.

 

Note: To see the new G/L format, click on the arrow to the right of the G/L Alias Item Details field and the new format will display in the New Alias Format field.

 

2. Proceed to Next Step.

Note: If necessary, click on the Clear Formats button to remove all input information and reset the Step 2 fields to their default values.

 

12. Click on the Apply New Format button. The grid will be updated; the new format of each account will be displayed in the New Account and New Alias columns.

 

Note: If applying the new account format will created duplicate accounts, a warning message will be displayed; the user will be presented with the options to remove the duplicate accounts automatically or individually.  A selection must be made in order to continue the replication process.

 

13. Enter a note in the New Note field.

 

 

14. Click on the Save button to complete the replication process.

 

If any of the original G/L accounts belong to a parent the Parent - Subordinate Relationship Setup screen will be displayed. Make the necessary entries as required and click Continue. A confirmation message will be displayed.
