Manitoba EIS - Changes for 2013/2014 School Year

Back to EIS

• The reporting date is Monday, September 30, 2013. The data is due to the Schools' Finance Branch on October 15, 2013.

• Each student now has a new field called Enrolled Pupil available on the student's enrolment tab.  A student will be considered an Enrolled Pupil if this box is checked (it was automatically checked for all students who were "home" (aka not "concurrent") at the time of Enterprise database update 1.14510).  The definition of an enrolled pupil may be found in www.edu.gov.mb.ca/k12/finance/enrol_reporting/enrol_report_13-14.pdf.

• Independent Schools (private schools only): the Eligible % is now calculated the same way that public schools are calculated. Maplewood consulted with Manitoba Education this summer to ensure that the calculation method is still accurate. It is as follows:

Eligible % is blank except for those students who are either:

- home schooled (Enrolment type has the Ministry # 410), or
- over 21 years of age as of December 31st, or
- over 16 years of age as of December 31st and have obtained a diploma.

• The file option BEF Program Summary (Basic French Enrolment) has been removed as it is no longer supported by EIS. French course information is collected via the BEF Classroom (K-8) file.

• Please note: In the Enrolment file, the homeroom field is now required for pupils in Nursery to grade 8 as well as grade SE and SS

• The menu option has been renamed from Create MET Data Collection Files to Create EIS Data Collection Files, and the option Import Ministry Files has been changed to Import Department Files.

• The following EIS Code Table changes are in effect starting in the 2013/14 school year:

Delivery Mode (these table changes are automatically visible when editing the Delivery field in File, School Setup, Classes, Edit any class).
