Manitoba EIS - Changes for 2015/2016 School Year |
The reporting date is Wednesday, September 30, 2015. The data is due to the Schools' Finance Branch on October 15, 2015.
Frontier School Division has been notified of the following table change required in the Enrolment Type table: Create enrolment code 580 - Attending a First Nations School Claimed for Board and Room Support (for Frontier SD only). Comment from Manitoba Education: This code will allow Board and Room funding for home placement students attending a First Nations School for a program not offered. Please see Public Schools Enrolment and Categorical Grants Reporting for the 2015/2016 School Year.
The point of entry for support for pupils in Francais has been raised from Grade 3 to Grade 4. Grade 3 will no longer be accepted as a valid entry when the student is enrolled in the Francais program and the Language Code 171 "EAL: English as an Additional Language (French Program)" is entered.
The generic file imports and exports that duplicate the fixed length department import and exports are no longer supported in EIS. Note: These formats were not used by Maplewood. Comment from Manitoba Education: This will standardize the collection of data from all student administration system.
EIS Collection will now accept data related to the number of days taught by a teacher in a given academic year. There is a new import and export function for this purpose in EIS, as well as a new tab labeled Experience in the Teacher Information section of EIS. Upon consultation with Manitoba Education, this new functionality is expected to be part of the division's HR/Payroll system. Only a select number of School Division will be participating in this pilot project during the 2015 academic year. The participating School Divisions have already been contacted, and all other schools/school divisions will be expected to continue with their current process for submitting Teacher Experience data to the Department. data collection
