1c: Next Year Tab

Prior to entering the master timetable into Maplewood, the number of semesters and terms must be correct in File, School Setup, School Information, This Year (for the current year) or Next Year (for the next year).  In the spring of the current year, many schools begin the preparations for the new school year including the building of next year’s timetables.  School Information setup screen is shown below and should match the school’s unique organization.  Maplewood can assist in determining the correct setup for your school.

Depending on your option selection on the Configuration tab you will have either Basic Period setup or Period Pattern setup.

For the Basic Period setup you can set the number of semesters, Days per Cycle, Periods per Day and Basic Patterns. If you select Basic Periods on the Configuration Tab then you will see corresponding setup information on the This Year and Next Year Tabs. In the Semester frame, enter the number of Semesters and then click Tumble to define the daily school tumble settings. Next, enter the number of Days per Cycle, Periods per Day and Basic Periods. Then click Period Times and enter the Start and End times for each period for each day. The duration will be calculated automatically. When you have finished click Done.

If you select Period Patterns on the Configuration Tab then you will see corresponding setup information on the This Year and Next Year Tabs.  To specify Semester/Term Pattern information, choose File, School Setup, School Information and click the Next Year tab. Then use the spin buttons to specify the Number of Semesters and Terms per Semester. Click here for more information on setting up Patterns.
