How to Edit a Dictionary Item

 

Use the following steps to edit a dictionary item:

 

1. Click on the Business tab, click General Ledger, and select G/L Dictionary Editor.

 

2. In the G/L Dictionary Editor screen, click on the plus symbol to expand the G/L or Alias element drop- down menu options.

 

 

3. From the element drop-down list, click on the dictionary item to edit.

 

 

4. In the Item Details section, the selected element and dictionary item will display with all related information.

 

Note: The Code field is read-only.

 

 

5. If applicable, enter or update the Description.

 

6. If applicable, enter or update the Abbreviation.

 

7. If applicable, in the G/L Alias Relationships section, click on the Alias Element drop-down menu to select an option.

 

8. If applicable, click on the Alias Code drop-down menu to select an option.

 

9. If applicable, click on the Add Relationship button.

 

Note: Repeat steps 7 through 9 to add as many alias relationships as necessary.

 

All added alias relationships will display in the Current Relationships grid. Click on the Delete icon to remove an alias relationship.

 

10. Enter a note in the New Note field.

 

Note: Notes entered in this field will be saved and may be viewed in the Notes History section and are read-only.

 

11. Click on the Save button the dictionary item changes or click on the Cancel button to cancel the create dictionary item process.
