Attendance Procedures for the Office

Any attendance system is only as good as the accuracy and regularity of the data submitted to the office. A record is kept by the computer of each period missed by each student. This information may be used directly on report cards, and is likely to be referred to regularly by administration in monitoring student attendance. Therefore, accurate attendance reporting is vital. The duties of the attendance secretary or the office staff are listed below.

Be sure that Reports Of Classes Missed have been printed for the previous day before Change Date or Initialize Today's Attendance are carried out.

When using attendance for the first time, or when homeroom attendance is to be taken at a different time, be sure to run set Attendance Parameters. This program allows the school’s attendance procedures concerning entering attendance, homeroom period, teacher sheet delivery, double periods, and calculating attendance totals to be entered into the computer for a more customized approach to attendance.

First, initialize today's attendance by choosing Attendance, Enter Attendance, Initialize Today's Attendance.

The Enter Attendance options let you enter the day’s attendance information. Here is the order in which you should enter attendance. Choose Attendance, Enter Attendance and use these commands to prepare your attendance:
