Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Courses Upon submitting the students' SHSM program and certificates (SHSM) and the completed courses for this submission (Student Class Enrolment), this SHSM Courses batch file can be submitted to identify those credits earned by the student that required as part of their SHSM program requirements. When selecting this batch file, a message will appear as follows: Warning: This option must be done after the Student Class Enrolment file and SHSM Program is successfully processed. Request a new Specialist High Skills Major Course extract and use this extract to create the batch file. Since the SHSM Courses extract (extract 0029) generated when the submission period was first opened would not have included the courses completed during the current submission, a new extract is necessary. The extract includes the grade 11 and 12 credits earned by the student (e.g. the course code has 3 or 5 in character 4 of the course code). The extract includes only students currently in SHSM programs (therefore they are Main School at the school), and it includes only the student’s completed courses contained in the OnSIS system at the time of the extract, considering courses earned at other schools. Maplewood will use this extract, comparing the extract data to the information in the student’s transcript, to create a batch file that flags whether or not each course in the extract is counted toward the student’s SHSM program requirements. Note: Once the SHSM Courses batch file is processed, the SHSM program courses will be flagged accordingly in the OnSIS application. The information in OnSIS can be found within the SHSM area in OnSIS (School Data Submission, Student, select Student, School Enrolment, SHSM, Course). All courses that have been uploaded during the current submission period will appear on the screen. Courses that have a checkmark preceding the course code, are ones that have been flagged as counting toward the SHSM program requirements. OnSIS is not doing any checks on the validity of the flags according to the SHSM program, if a course is missed, it will be caught up next time (e.g. a student is taking SHSM course at another school that has not yet submitted data). For further information on extracts, read Pre-populated Data and Extracts. |
