How to Search and Inquire on a Cheque
The Cheque inquiry feature is available for cheques that have been retrieved in the grid, at the end of the search process. The grid cheque listing can be printed in a PDF, Excel and/or Word report format.
There are two ways to perform a cheque search:

Use the following steps to perform a simple cheque search:
1. Click on the Business tab, click Cheque, and select Cheque Inquiry/Report.
2. Enter the Cheque Number and/or Vendor Number or click on the Search icon to search for a Vendor.
Cheque Number and Vendor Number are auto-complete fields.

3. Click on the Search button. The cheque(s) that meet the search criteria will be retrieved and displayed in the grid.

4. If applicable, click on the Cheque # hyperlink to inquire on a cheque. The cheque information will displayed in a screen. A further option to inquire on the invoice is available. Within the cheque hyperlink, click on the Invoice # hyperlink to view invoice information.
5. If applicable, click on the Print button to print cheque or invoice information, or click on the Close button to return to the previous screen.

Use the following steps to perform an advanced cheque search:
1. In the Cheque Inquiry/Report screen, click on the Advanced Search link. The advanced search fields will be displayed.
Note: The Advanced Search link will change to Simple Search.
2. If applicable, in the Cheque Number section, enter the Starts, Ends and/or Equals fields with cheque numbers to search between.

3. If applicable, in the Vendor section, select one of the following radio buttons: Number (selected by default) or Name.
4. If applicable, enter the Starts, Ends and/or Equals vendor numbers or names to search within a range. If necessary, click on the corresponding Search icon to perform a Vendor search by number or name.

5. If applicable, in the MICR Number section, enter the Starts, Ends and/or Equals fields with MICR numbers to search within a range.
6. If applicable, in the Authorization Number section, enter the Starts, Ends and/or Equals fields with authorization numbers to search within a range. If necessary, click on the Search icon to search for an Authorization number.

7. If applicable, in the Bank Number section, click on the Starts and/or Ends drop-down menu to select options.
The bank codes that have been set up in Accounting Settings are available for selection. Default value: first bank code on the list.
8. If applicable, in the Cheque Issue Date section, click on the calendar icon to enter the Starts and/or Ends dates.
9. If applicable, in the Year/Period section, click on the Starts and/or Ends drop-down menus to select the year and period to search within a range.
The current fiscal Year/Period will be selected by default.
10. If applicable, in the Status/Type section, select any of the following selection boxes: All (selected by default), Void, Returned, cancelled, Outstanding, Issued, EFT, Manual, Online Chq, A/P Cheque, Pay Run, Post Dated and/or Summary by Period.
11. Click on the Search button. The cheque(s) that meet the search criteria will be retrieved and displayed in the grid.

12. If applicable, click on the Cheque # hyperlink to inquire on a cheque. The cheque information will displayed in a screen. A further option to inquire on the invoice is available. Within the cheque hyperlink, click on the Invoice # hyperlink to view invoice information.
13. If applicable, click on the Print button to print cheque or invoice information or click on the Close button to return to the previous screen.
