DB Export

The purpose of an export is to extract raw data from the system. Before an export can be achieved, export settings must be created in Settings>DB Import/Export. There are no mandatory fields for an export setting, unless it is also intended to be used for imports. (A check box allows the user to specify if the setting will have import capability; if it is not checked, there will be no mandatory fields.)

To process an export, from the System tab select DB Export.  Within there, select the specific data type to be exported.  The system will then prompt for a range of data to be exported, enabling the user to zero in on subsets of interest if desired. If the range prompts are left blank, all of that data type will be included in the export.

Common Prompts to All Exports:

Setting list – this drop-down list will contain all settings that have been defined as export settings, for whichever data type is currently being considered for export.  Select the setting to be used in the export.

Modify Setting – clicking this will allow the user to modify the setting; once the modify is saved, the user will be returned to the prior screen but it will be cleared of all selections.

Export To – select the desired output format for the export – text file or Excel file.

DB Export – process the export.

Note: Use the Preview button first to ensure that the selections have been observed.

Preview – display the first few lines of the data to be exported as a check, before processing the export.

Clear All remove all input information and reset the fields to their default values.
