Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) Credits

Equivalent and Challenge credits, entered directly into a student's transcript, are submitted through the PLAR batch file.  If a course in the transcript starts with Q, PLE or QEV, it is considered an equivalent credit (for Enterprise Platform users - the option to select PLAR Type is available within the add/edit screen in transcripts).

The PLAR section in OnSIS is also used to report credits earned through the PLAR challenge process. For Proprietary Platform users, credits earned through the challenge process are not identified as PLAR credits in Maplewood. Maplewood will submit these credits as if they are "Other Credits" in the Student Class Enrolment batch file. A Maplewood warning is generated for each Other Credit indicating that it should be manually correct if the credit was earned through the PLAR challenge process.  To do this within OnSIS, remove the Other Credit entry and re-enter it in the PLAR area.
